Classes & Aid

On our campus, students learn by doing!  Mentored by world-class instructors teaching in an apprentice model, students build the skills, confidence, and satisfaction that comes from practicing a trade. A signature element of the boatbuilding program is the range of different boats students work on. The marine systems program teaches most systems found on a boat today and is known for the depth of marine electrical skills students learn and practice. This year the U.S. Maritime Administration recognized NWSWB as one of 38 2024 Centers of Excellent for Domestic Maritime Training and Education in the country.

The school is approved to receive federal student aid and veterans benefits for those who qualify. The only entrance requirement is a high school degree or GED and a desire to learn.
